Introducing Chantelle Darkings (27) to the ORB team. Here, Chantelle, who was born in Leeds and grew up in her family home in Castleford, tells us more!
Tell us a bit about your education and previous career history to date?
I went to Airedale High School and then onto college in Pontefract and Leeds before graduating from Liverpool John Moores University in 2017 where I studied events management and marketing. I've worked in variety of industries from retail, hospitality, events, banking call centre, farming (picking tomatoes and snow peas in Australia) and recruitment.
What does your role at ORB involve?
I am a recruitment consultant here at ORB and currently working on a big new contract placing permanent candidates in a new call centre.
What do you think you are going to enjoy the most working at ORB?
The business ethos here at ORB and just generally how they operate as a company fits perfectly to what I was looking for in an employer. Everyone is down to earth and friendly and you are able to manage your time yourself.
What do you like most about working in recruitment?
I like speaking to a variety of different people. I find that as I have worked in different industries myself it makes the conversations more relatable. I also like that the role is fast past and that I'm kept busy.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I enjoy travel (pre-covid times, of course!) and finding quirky bars to sit in with my friends or just watching movies at home.
Tell us an interesting fact about yourself!
I have met the players from Liverpool Football club as I worked at the hotel which they used to go to for their pre match meals before home games.
