Gillian Nimmo, who joined our Edinburgh office last year, has been promoted to Director level as part of plans to grow the Scotland- based team of ORB Recruitment. Here we find out more about her new role.
Gillian said: “I’m obviously thrilled to be starting this new challenge. I joined ORB so I could utilise my existing skills from my retail experience and continue to learn about recruitment but I did not expect this level of praise from ORB in such a short period of time. When your employer gives you this increased commitment, it gives you confidence that you are part of a collaborative team and Alan and Stewart have been great supporting me to achieve my own goals alongside those for the wider company.
“My new role does not necessarily mean anything new in terms of recruiting, I will still be actively doing the day job ensuring that clients and candidates the length and breadth of the country, not just Scotland, have an exceptional experience working with us. But what I will also be doing now is getting much more involved in team development, client acquisition and brand awareness which is really exciting.
“I hope to make the most of my network within Edinburgh and Scotland to raise the profile of ORB and communicate how we can support employers in an effective and efficient manner that is much more valuable than traditional recruitment companies.
“In Edinburgh alone there is a wealth of companies and industries that can harness recruitment services to support their business, however it is about engaging with people and demonstrating this value. I also want to achieve growth within our team. We are now a team of four in the Edinburgh office, however my goal is to offer clients further levels of expertise which will only come with our own development. I am investing in the team and my own progression to ensure a sustainable service to clients. It’s great to be part of this journey and I am relishing the experience so far.”
Stewart Olsen, group CEO at ORB Recruitment, said: “It was always a key aim of mine to establish an office in Scotland and since we opened in Edinburgh last year it has really exceeded all my expectations.
