The latest addition to the team at a leading Edinburgh recruitment firm has been given an added boost with news that the firm is going to sponsor his flourishing rugby career.
Callum Ramm (26), who lives in Edinburgh and joined ORB Recruitment as a recruitment resourcer last month, will now be supported by the business as he looks to also develop his rugby career where he is currently semi-professional playing for Boroughmuir Bears.
The 12-month sponsorship deal provides Callum with funding to ensure he has access to the right facilities, equipment and resources needed to create as close to a professional training environment as possible. The main aim is to give him the best opportunity to reach the highest level he can in the game.
Gillian Nimmo, director at ORB Recruitment, said: “We knew when we appointed Callum to his role at ORB that he also played semi-professional for the Bears and that he has really focused on his rugby since coming back from travelling in Australia. So, when the opportunity arose to support his rugby journey further we were keen to not only help him but also invest in Boroughmuir Bears as they provide so much for the local community.
“Our sponsorship will make sure that Callum has access to the resources needed to ensure he can continue playing rugby and then off the field we can provide a strong development pathway to progress his career within recruitment.
“We regularly support Boroughmuir players with CV writing, interview technique and to help them find roles that are either providing a career path should their rugby careers not work out, or to supplement their playing wages so it all works. The sponsorship is an extension of this work and we’re all really pleased to be involved.”
Callum said: “It’s been an exciting time for me recently. Firstly, by getting the job with ORB which has allowed me to get into the recruitment industry and then with the sponsorship for my rugby which is a massive part of my life.
“I’m really enjoying the first few weeks of my role with ORB learning the recruitment ropes and to now have the rugby sponsorship means I can continue to enjoy playing as well and hopefully get to the highest level I can whether that’s Super Six, Scotland sevens or managing to stay at semi pro level if not more. Having the support of ORB makes that process a lot simpler and easier so I can focus on playing rugby and not get overwhelmed, I’m really grateful to them.”
