Meet the team…Nikki Farmer

16.01.23

We’re really pleased to be welcoming Nikki Farmer (33) to the ORB team! Nikki, who lives in Doncaster, joins as a recruitment consultant in the healthcare sector.

Tell us a bit about your career history to date?

I am a local lass and went to school in Armthorpe and then university in Hull. I then worked in the care industry for a long while and then for B&Q. Ive found my experience in care really helps with working on the care side of recruitment.

What is your job title at ORB and what does the role involve?

I am a recruitment consultant which involves resourcing new candidates (health care assistants, senior carers and nurses), liaising with care homes, seeing what they need and working on the rota’s to put the staff in the homes. I’ve also just started learning the business development side of things so will soon be working on bringing new care homes on to work with us.

What makes ORB stand out from the crowd?

It’s a good team, the staff provided to care homes are vetted better than some other agencies and from working in care in the past and alongside agency workers I know how important this is.

What do you enjoy most about working in recruitment?

I’m enjoying the fast pace of working and as I’ve never done recruitment before I’m enjoying the challenge and learning, which is why I wanted the change in the first place

What do you like to do outside of work?

I read a lot, mainly fantasy and dystopian, and love the outdoors. I am also the owner of a new puppy so won’t be doing much else for a while!
