Extrusion Operator

Orb Recruitment have multiple Permanent opportunities available for enthusiastic Extrusion Operatives to join a local manufacturer who specialise in Thermoplastic Technology solutions including PVC and Polycarbonate.

 

The Role

Operating on a production line with daily use of various machines and tools. Ensuring quality and efficiency are maintained throughout.

Main responsibilities

Day-to-day responsibilities for successful applicants will include, but not be limited to the following;

  • Ensuring the production line is run correctly and efficiently throughout the shift.
  • Ensure that products are manufactured to specification and in accordance with the production plan and work instructions.
  • Ensure product quality is maintained and all quality checks are completed.
  • Complete preventative maintenance tasks as and when required.
  • Ensure that Company Health and Safety policies/procedures are followed.
  • Ensure the line is cleaned and maintained as instructed.
  • Complete all required paperwork during the shift.
  • Maintain the machines integrity and report any damage that has been caused to the relevant person.
  • Liaise with the Shift Manager regarding any issues that could affect efficiency that arise.
  • Play an active role in maintaining the OEE inputs and reports at the highest standard.
  • Ensure that the finished product is packaged correctly in line with either Company or Customer requirements.
  • Work to minimise lost production time through efficient practice and continuous improvement.
  • Other duties as deemed reasonable and necessary both now and in the future to meet the business needs.

Working Hours

  • 12 Hour shifts (Days & Nights) on a rotational, continental shift plan.
  • You will be provided with a pre-determined rota for the remainder of the year.

Salary

  • This position pays a starting salary of £23,340 + an Annual Shift Allowance of £900.
  • After 12 months, this will increase to £27,053 per year.
