ORB’s new associate director prepares to shake up post-pandemic recruitment in Scotland

An expanding recruitment firm has appointed an associate director as part of its new team in Scotland.

ORB Recruitment - which recently opened a permanent base in Edinburgh - has welcomed Gillian Nimmo, 41, to the company.

One of the key tasks for Gillian, who lives in East Lothian with her husband and daughter, will be finding new businesses and industries to work with ORB, as it looks to quickly establish its name in the Scottish marketplace and become a trailblazer in a new era of permanent recruitment.

“Covid has forced companies to look at their overheads and cut back on non-value initiatives. Permanent recruitment, from my experience, has been one of these”, Gillian said.

“We now have an opportunity to redefine what permanent recruitment is, while we demonstrate the value we can add and how we are a credible part of a business’s team and culture.

Gillian joins ORB at an exciting time, as it begins to develop a wider presence across the UK.

Her varied role will also involve building a dynamic team for the new office in the Scottish capital.

She said: “I am excited about what our future team will look like. The key for me is to get the right people. We can teach certain things, however, the right personality and approach is inherent for success.”
