ORB staff get salary boost to tackle cost of living crisis

ORB managing director Stewart Olsen explains why the company has committed to paying all staff an extra £150 a month.

At ORB Recruitment, we pride ourselves on being a conscientious employer. We take our responsibility for the overall wellbeing of our staff seriously, both while they are at work and outside the office.

The unforeseen rise in the cost of living is affecting people across the country. A recent survey found 52% of Britons are using less gas and electricity and 41% are spending less on food and other essentials in a bid to cut down costs.*

We know that increasing prices are impacting our teams, so we wanted to do something to help. We have committed to paying staff at all levels an additional £150 in salary each month to support them with the cost of living crisis. This applies to all 20 of our staff in Balby Carr and Edinburgh.

While ORB already offer remuneration packages above the average and 30 days annual leave, gym memberships and industry leading bonus and commission schemes, we feel this is the right thing to do. Everyone has been really appreciative of this move and we hope the extra money will make a real difference to the wellbeing of our people.

Daniel Pidcock, Group Business Development Manager at ORB, said: "I have noticed the increase in the cost of living lately, seeing a large increase at home for things like electricity and gas. My daughter recently turned four and, as she grows, our food shopping bills are also increasing. All of which has had a significant impact on my finances each month.

"ORB Recruitment offering an additional £150 per month to tackle the cost of living crisis is a huge weight off my shoulders. With the additional support provided by ORB each month, I know that my family will be happy and healthy, which means everything to me.

"Both Stewart and the rest of the ORB leadership work tirelessly to make sure every member of staff receives the support they need. Should I ever need help, in the office or in my personal life, I know Stewart is available to talk through the issue and help alleviate the pressure.

"I have been in the recruitment industry for nearly 15 years and have worked closely with Stewart for the majority of this time. I can honestly say that I have never worked for a company that goes the extra mile for their employees like the team at here at ORB."
