ORB Recruitment have multiple vacancies available for Vehicle Fitters to work for an industry leading Vehicle Conversion Specialist in Doncaster, DN6 on a Permanent basis.

Our client are involved in various methods of conversion, including - Welfare Vehicles, Crew Carriers, Racking Installations, Bunk Vans, Stock Vans, Lighter Conversions and much more.

The Role

Due to rapid growth and a huge increase in work load, our client are looking to add experienced and enthusiastic vehicle fitters to their workforce. While experience will hold a distinct advantage, this job would be perfect for people with a background in production/assembly roles. However, candidates with a passion for manual work, or who are confident working with their hands (Handymen, DIY enthusiasts, Car Restorers, Mechanics, Bench Joiners, Carpenters/Joiners, Shopfitters) would also be perfect for this position!

Key Responsibilities

Candidates will be trained on different stages of the build process and will be responsible for, but not limited to;

  • Internal Fitting - Racking Systems, Flooring, Load Locks, Silicone Fastening, Kitchens, Toilets, Sanitizing Stations, Seating, some wiring and more.
  • External Fitting - Control Panel Installation, Stairs, Bay lifts.
  • Daily use of Hand & Power tools - Drills, Tape Measure, Screwdrivers, Spanners, Wrenches and more.
  • Quality Control - In most cases you will be responsible for ensuring products are assembled to tight specifications before being delivered to end customer, so a keen eye for detail is essential.
  • Working to specific measurements and timelines

Additional Responsibilities

  • Advise of any amends to drawings/panels
  • Notify supervisor of potential improvements to build method
  • Carry out duties in line with Health and Safety requirements and make supervisor aware of potential Health & Safety issues
  • Log on and off correct SFDC operation in line with company policy
  • Adhere to relevant ISO / QMS process

Desired Skills

  • Experience working to tight measurements and deadlines
  • Experience working with BOTH Hand and Power tools
  • Excellent eye for detail
  • Good understanding of the conversion process, or knowledge of vehicles

In addition to the above, this is a PERMANENT position for the right candidate.

Working Hours

Monday to Wednesday, 06.00am - 16.00pm

Thursday, 06.00am - 15.00pm

This works out to a 39 hour week

Pay - £12.50 per hour or £24,350 per annum starting salary.
